SPLIT - SPOILER REVIEW

*SPOILER WARNING* Hi, folks! Here I am back again to talk about M. Night Shyamalan’s new film SPLIT only this time I’m going to delve into details that I kept under wraps in my Spoiler Free Review. If you haven’t seen this film I advise you to go out and see the movie and then come back. I’m going to be talking about this film in depth and if you want to know my thoughts without Spoilers click here for my Spoiler-Free Thoughts. Without further ado let’s get to it! As many of you may know from my SPOILER-FREE Review that I outright adored this film from beginning to end and in my personal opinion thought it was M. Night’s best effort in years. It was so refreshing to see an incredibly well-directed thriller, unfortunately, after seeing this director at his worst with Airbender and After Earth . Like I said in my previous review it was a very well directed piece of cinema, but I did say that there was a twist that changed my perspective on this entire film and completely just

SPLIT - MOVIE REVIEW (SPOILER FREE)

*SPOILER FREE REVIEW* *Written and Directed by M. Night Shyamalan *Starring James McAvoy, Anya Taylor-Joy, Hailey Lu Richardson, Betty Buckley, and Jessica Sula THE PLOT: A few teenage girls are abducted and held hostage in a basement by a psychopath (James McAvoy), who thinks he’s 23 different people. This man has multiple personality disorder and so throughout this film, we delve deeper into his psychology, but at the same time, these girls must find an escape from the clutches of such a mysterious and dangerous figure. Now if I’m being honest here I’ve grown a strong appreciation and love for M. Night Shyamalan because of the amazing films he’s accomplished in the past with films like The Sixth Sense , Unbreakable and my personal favorite, Signs . I’m also the guy who loved The Visit , really enjoyed The Village and liked, I repeat, LIKED Lady in the Water . Of course, Split looked promising because of our first look at the trailer. It had that creepy and intens

M. Night Shyamalan RANKED! PART 2

Salutations once again! Here's Part 2 of my Ranked list of M. Night Shyamalan films. Thank goodness it gets better from here. SPLIT is right around the corner and it looks promising, but until then, let's end this retrospective on a high note. Also, if you haven't already, be sure to check out Part 1 of this list. Let's get to it! PART 2 (#5 - 1) 5. THE VILLAGE - Like Lady in the Water I know for this film I’ll be in the extreme minority because unlike most people I really dug this movie. Maybe this film wasn’t as thought-provoking as say The Sixth Sense , Signs or Unbreakable , yet there was still a twist in this story that really adds a lot to the film upon further multiple viewings. I remember liking the film okay seeing it a few years back, but revisiting it again really had an impression on me because this time around I could really appreciate where Shyamalan took this story. I actually heard elsewhere that this film was marketed more as a horror/thril

M. Night Shyamalan RANKED! PART 1

Well, folks, this weekend sees the release of M. Night Shyamalan’s newest film SPLIT, which I’m very excited to see, so I thought it’d be a good time to revisit some of the films where he got started as a filmmaker and then see how his career progressed along the lines. Instead of arranging his films by year I figured I’d do something a little different and just rank all of his directed films. The only films I didn’t include are DEVIL seeing as he produced and his directorial debut Praying With Anger since I had no access to it and I know there was a version of the film up on YouTube, but the quality was so lousy that I just didn’t feel the need to watch it that way. Without further ado here’s EVERY M. NIGHT SHYAMALAN FILM RANKED! PART 1 (#10 - 6) 10. THE LAST AIRBENDER - There have been a lot of horrible things said about this movie and after seeing it I can finally jump on that bandwagon. Not only is this film awful in every sense of the word because of how it’s adapted

TOP 10 FAVORITE FILMS OF 2016! PART 2 (#5 - 1)

Here's the continuation to my Favorite Films of 2016 list. If you want to catch up, read Part 1 (#10 - 6) . Until then let's get to it and see what five 2016 films I loved the most. PART 2 (#5 - 1) 5. THE BEATLES: EIGHT DAYS A WEEK - I never thought a documentary would make this list, but low and behold this was an incredibly well-directed film under the helm of Ron Howard about the touring years behind my all time favorite band, The Beatles. Of course, it would be easy for me to fanboy over this considering how much I adore this band and the music they created, but this was a movie that really got under my skin and made me think things about The Beatles that I hadn’t thought before. This was a documentary that didn’t sanitize anything and make you think life in this band was so fine and dandy because it just wasn’t. I won’t give much of the story away, but you learned about struggles they had in their career and how there were times when they even felt kind of bro

TOP 10 FAVORITE FILMS OF 2016! PART 1 (#10 - 6)

What’s going on, guys? As you saw a few days ago I was glad to have already got my Worst of 2016 list done and over with. Felt it was a good transition because I can end talking about the films of 2016 on a positive note and I must say this might be one of my new favorite years in all of cinema. I came out of most screenings completely satisfied and gaining that spark of excitement that reminded me why I love movies. These are movies that I ranked based on how much enjoyment I gained watching such titles than what maybe was technically a better made film than another film. This is personal preference and I wasn't able to get around to see every movie. I know there were great films released like Patriots Day and Silence , but I don’t live in New York or LA. They weren’t released in my area, so I wasn’t able to catch them, but hope to check them out very soon for Award Season.  Without further ado, in a series of 2 parts here are my TOP 10 FAVORITE FILMS OF 2016! PART 1 (#10 -

TOP 5 WORST FILMS OF 2016

Well guys, it's now 2017 and looking back at 2016 I'm genuinely surprised how many great films were released. There were so many films I loved and enjoyed that I couldn't wait to see them again and buy them on Blu-Ray. Unfortunately, not all films last year hit and we did end up with some massive misfires. Every year is deemed to have it's fair share of stinkers, so today I'll be breaking down the films I didn't enjoy watching in the least bit...like at all...like I'd rather be staring at a wall.  Here are my TOP 5 WORST FILMS OF 2016 ... 5. ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS - Now I’ll be perfectly honest that I didn’t completely loathe this film at all, but it ain’t that good. I’ll say at the very least that it did have its fair share of entertaining sequences, some visuals looked okay and the actors look like they’re trying and I’m sure it might’ve been fun for them making it. It’s a watchable film, but really that’s about it. The story is rea
