TOP 5 STAR WARS STORIES I'D LOVE TO EXPERIENCE

Hello There! And welcome back fellow readers! This time I have a fun Star Wars editorial I wanted to share with you all about stories in a galaxy far, far away that I would love to experience on screen or on the page.

Disclaimer: This isn't to say that I'm not at all satisfied with what Lucasfilm has going on right now. If you've been following or know me for a while, you know how positive and passionate I've been about Star Wars recently. I've loved every single bit of content I've watched and got my hands on and these are just stories I'd love to see in Lucasfilm's foreseeable future, if it's at all on the docket. If not, I'm sure I'll be satisfied with what I get. But for now here we go and first are a few HONORABLE MENTIONS:

Clone Trooper
Battlefront Storyline/DLC
Storytelling Medium: Video Game (1st/3rd Person Shooter)

I loved Jedi Fallen Order since we were able to play from the perspective of the main character, Cal, as a Jedi after dealing with the rough aftermath caused by the rise of the Galactic Empire. I think we should get the same type of story, but with a Clone Trooper in a Battlefront game whether in Battlefront 2 as a DLC or it could be the main plot of Battlefront 3 if that were to be made.

The plot of the game would involve going on Clone Wars type missions and doing your duty as a Trooper in that capacity and maybe having a friendship with Captain Rex and Commander Cody. It could have your character deal with the Order 66 Conspiracy, getting the chip removed to bypass that order, and then see how he takes refuge and maybe joins the fight with Rex in the Rebellion. Basically it's like the plot of Battlefront 2 with Iden Versio fighting for the Empire, but playing it from the perspective of a Clone inspired by the prequel and original trilogies I think would be utterly awesome.

Bounty Hunter Underworld
Storytelling Medium: Video Game (3rd Person Action/Adventure)

Before Lucasfilm was acquired by Disney there was a game in the works that got canned called Star Wars 1313, which, basically, would be the closest we get to an R-Rated Star Wars story. The Mandalorian and even Jedi Fallen Order have proven that we can get into some edgy Star Wars action in the new Canon and I would love to play a game in a dark and disgusting Star Wars environment where we deal with the filth of Bounty Hunters. You could go on those types of missions to maybe be double crossed by Aurra Sing and work your way to the top to spit in Bossk's face. I would love this type of game and in that type of open-world environment like we experienced in Jedi Fallen Order.

Podracers
Storytelling Medium: Animated TV Series

I heard this brought up by Ken Napzok on his podcast ForceCenter (which you should all freakin' listen to and I'll link below), but a Fast and Furious type Podracing story would be glorious. But the way I envisioned it was in a crazy 80s futuristic 2D/3D animation type style like Batman Beyond and Tron Uprising. It would even be amazing to watch a whole show like the Galaxy of Adventures animations on the Star Wars YouTube channel or that stupendous EU Clone Wars micro animated series by Genndy Tartakovsky. Give me that in an animated series in a Blade Runner type environment with a diverse ensemble of characters and I'll be all for that. But of course that could lead us to seeing some fun at the Mos Espa Podrace.

I know. Kind of cheating here, but let's get down to the TOP 5 that I would be most hyped to experience in that amazing galaxy we all know and love:

#5
Young Yoda/Yoda Origin Story
Storytelling Medium: Movie, TV Mini Series
(Live-Action or Animation)

It seems like we MIGHT be getting a taste of that in this new era of High Republic books and comics (though not sure how young) because if you look closely in the "announcement trailer" there's a split second shot where you see concept art of Yoda in the office background, which I do think alludes to us actually reading and/or seeing him being a part of those stories. But for me I would love to see Yoda starting out as a Jedi and seeing who his Master was. Like what kind of person was he like when he was younger? I think it’d be a lot of fun to explore and to see what the state of the Jedi Order was like with young Yoda starting out when he was a swinging a lightsaber for the first time as a padawan and eventually becoming a Jedi Knight. Then, the story could end on him becoming the Master we know and love in the Skywalker Saga.

#4
Origin of the Jedi
Storytelling Medium: Movies, TV Series, Comic Books, Novels
(Live-Action or Animation)

So reportedly the movie series that David Benioff and D.B. Weiss were working on before they exited were movies about the Origins of the Jedi, which to me would’ve been absolutely amazing. I know people have their gripes and criticisms with the later seasons of Game of Thrones, but because of how they helmed that show from beginning to end, they understood complexly written characters and unconventional storytelling while also setting up very enticing fantasy lore, which to me is very fitting for this type of Star Wars story being told.

So even though they’re off the project it would be really neat to see how the Jedi started out and how they were Force sensitive beings trying to figure out what they should do to make the galaxy a better place and how their knowledge and defense should be used. How was the first ever lightsaber created? Like this would be high fantasy Star Wars glory that I would love to see, but it’s also cool to know we’ll be getting a taste of that in this new High Republic series.

I wouldn't mind seeing this in live-action like the previous movies, but animation-wise it could look very beautiful and the filmmakers could go all out with the scale of it. Plus with the Jedi we're dealing with lighter elements and the animation could lend itself to the light-heartedness and pureness found in Star Wars. Obviously, the aesthetics of how this imaginative story is captured could look visually gorgeous on a comic page or in both live-action or animation while as a novel the text could expand the details and world-building very well, which in the Star Wars books I've read have done that wonderfully.

#3
Origin of the Sith
Storytelling Medium: Movie, TV Series, Comic Books, Novels
(Live-Action or Animation)

I actually did some research because I’m not caught up in the Official Canon in regards to the books and comics, but what I will say is that the story I read on the Star Wars Wiki calls for immensely compelling material. The idea of seeing a rogue Jedi and followers merging into that darker power would be so much fun to explore. Yeah that’s right. Fun! The Dark Side, Jedi, and Sith were always some of my favorite parts of the saga since we’re dealing with a diverse amount of characters and so many mythical elements that it makes it so fun and exciting in the first place.

And to see how the fantastical elements of the Star Wars lore formed to bring us to the stories we know and love definitely adds something. It would be awesome to see the rise of the dark power and Darth Bane eventually creating the Rule of Two and, possibly, getting an official look at Plagueis as well. I know his species in Legends was a Muun much similar to the Banking Clan you saw in the prequels and Clone Wars, but I don't know. Maybe they'll keep him that same species. Who knows? But the origins of the Sith and that rise of dark power would be awesome. Also, I wouldn’t even mind seeing how the Sith cultists banded together like we saw on Exegol in The Rise of Skywalker. And speaking of Exegol maybe we could see how that Sith temple was formed while we’re at it.

I think mainly live action would be the way to go for this if a film or show were to be made since we're dealing with darker elements and themes that would give the story a mature edge. However, I wouldn't mind animation like in the style of The Clone Wars because I was so in love with how the Maul and the Night Sisters arc was stylized. The sophisticated nature of characters like Maul and Savage I thought was captured so well in that format and really got under my skin in a very good way. Again, comics and novels can expand more upon the detail in the lore through text that maybe couldn't be easily captured visually since there can be a lot to the fantasy elements, but seeing it on screen and in action would be just as amazing.

#2
Darth Bane
Storytelling Medium: Movies, TV Series, Novels
(Live-Action)

Now I have to admit that I’ve never really been super into Legends aka the Expanded Universe and while there are a couple things that have come out of it that I absolutely loved, it was never the part of Star Wars I explored that much of. I've been eying the new Official Canon, which in my opinion is more accessible, cohesively connected with the movies, and has been pretty great thus far. But Darth Bane is the one character I would love to see more of just by the hint we got of him in the Yoda arc in the 6th season of The Clone Wars and also voiced by Mark Hamill (who I think is an important Star Wars actor or something 😉). He is a very intriguing character. I already talked about how the Origin of the Sith would be a great story to tell, but jumping off of that we could see how the Sith fought amongst themselves, which led to Bane creating the Rule of Two, a Master and Apprentice, and whoever the Apprentice may be (could be Plagueis).

Either way maybe there’s material they could borrow from the Bane novel trilogy, which I haven’t read yet and am interested in reading. But judging by what we've seen in the new Canon already, the writers already cherry-pick from different Legends stories. So, while not telling the same story beat for beat like in the books there could be certain elements they could pull in to new material and could even surpass what’s come before. Also, I just want to see how evil this guy is compared to other Star Wars villains we’ve seen and what exactly motivates him to be this force to be reckoned with.

#1
Yaddle: A Star Wars Story
Storytelling Medium: Standalone Movie, TV Series
(Live-Action or Animation)

Not the #1 you'd expect, but for me this would be most intriguing. I don’t think I’ve ever been more fascinated by a background character in all of Star Wars than Yaddle because she’s the same unknown species as Yoda and The Child, but I’m just so interested to hear about her story. She was a member of the Jedi Council as we saw in The Phantom Menace, but what happened after that? Apparently, she left the Jedi Council for reasons unknown before the Clone Wars started and, basically, that’s it for her story. That’s what intrigues me. Why did she leave the Council? What was her relationship with Yoda like? How powerful of a Jedi was she? And what the heck is their species? I know the head of the story group, Pablo Hidalgo, said this and, heck, even the creator himself, George Lucas, said that we’ll never find out Yoda’s species, but with The Child as a mysterious character in The Mandalorian it seems like that’s the direction they’re heading.

We will eventually find out, but with Yaddle being off the Council that has me wonder. Where was Yaddle all this time? Heck, even Greez in Jedi Fallen Order mentions her as well, so that kind of says something. And this leads me to one of the craziest theories I’ve ever thought of and I’m not usually one to speculate. What if Yaddle is The Child’s mother? Of course, that might not happen, but I feel that since there’s not a lot of information about her and their species have such a long lifespan, what if they went that direction? I think it’d be pretty spectacular and something I’d love to see for an obscure character. We’re just gonna have to wait and see and we know it’ll be worth the wait because of how fun and awesome The Mandalorian is. But for Yaddle herself I think there is a story worth telling about her.

So there you have it these are the stories I'd love to explore that would expand that glorious saga and make us revisit it differently. Thank you for all taking the time to read this post and enjoy some entertainment.

May the Force Be With You...Always.

THE FUTURE OF STAR WARS

I think it's obvious for me to say that no matter what Star Wars content is coming out and when it will be released, I'll always be excited and on board to check it out. The universe of Star Wars is so vast and I love that there is always some sort of story to tell through film, TV, video games, novels, and comic books. So on the artistic end, we know the talented team over at Lucasfilm working in their respective mediums will deliver and give us thought-provoking content to make us rethink the saga and challenge the way we think about it. The business side of it is where the debates can start because I know that there will always be some form of Star Wars to look forward to, but how they are handling releasing all this new content and how they've done it so far has raised questions for all sorts of fans, myself included. Today, I wanted to take a deep dive into how they've developed their content so far and what this all means for the future of Star Wars and where we

IS IT FAIR TO BE DONE WITH A FRANCHISE?

Have you ever had something you love that you felt so connected to? A movie, a show, a sport, a video game, a hobby? You’ll ride or die for it, no matter what it is? No matter the setbacks, if there are even tiny things about it you don’t like? For me, I’ve always had a heart for movies and cartoons, which evolved into my love of art, entertainment, and pop culture. I love that this is a society where there is so much amazing content to enjoy and a variety of it that can appeal to the different tastes we have. For those of you who don’t know the things I’m obsessed with, that isn’t just in the broad world of entertainment and pop culture I’ll basically narrow them down to being The Beatles, superheroes, fantasy stories, and of course Star Wars. There are definitely other individual movies, TV shows, and comics I’m obsessed with, but it would be a really long editorial if we fell down that rabbit hole. If you want to get to an idea of who I am as a person, those four things I mentione
